The visitors took an early lead in the 6th minute through Eli Junior Kroupi. However, Nantes turned the tide and with goals from Matthis Abline in the 36th minute and Eray Coemert in the 46th minute.
In the 55th minute, Mostafa Mohamed showcased his exceptional skill by curling a direct free kick into the back of the net with his right foot, scoring Nantes' third goal.
Florent Mollet, 83, and Simon, 90+9pen, put the game beyong doubt as goals from Romain Faivre, 75, and Tosin Aiyegun, 85, were not enough to get Lorient anything out of this game.
The 25-year old Mohamed, who was substituted in the 80th minute, has now amassed an impressive five goals in six games in Ligue 1, only two goals shy of Paris Saint-Germain and France forward Kylian Mbappe.
Having initially joined Nantes on loan from Galatasaray in 2022, Mostafa Mohamed's outstanding performances convinced the French side to exercise their buy-out option in the beginning of the season.
Last season, he made a lasting impact with 13 goals and five assists in 54 games across all competitions.
