Market watch: Egyptian bourse’s benchmark hits all time high above 20.3k points on Monday

The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) main index broke all of its historic records on Monday above 20,300 points.

Stock market
 

The benchmark index EGX30 reached a new high at 20,320.56, edging up by 0.53 percent.

On the other hand, the EGX70 index slipped 0.4 percent to end at 3,812.64 points, near its all-time high.

The EGX100 index rose by 0.13 percent to hit 5,688.05 points.

The market capitalization gained EGP 8 billion, reaching nearly EGP 1,376 billion.

The biggest gainer for the day was Samad Misr (EGYFERT), jumping 17.73 percent to close at EGP 39.7 per share.

The bourse's biggest loser for the day was Raya Contact Center. The stock fell 6.49 percent to close at EGP 2.88 per share.

Gold prices
 

On Monday, a gram of 24-karat gold stood at EGP 2,508 to buy.

A gram of 21-karat gold was valued at EGP 2,195.

The price of 18-carat gold reached EGP 1,981 per gram.

The gold pound settled at EGP 17,640.

Currencies
 

With a buy rate of EGP 30.83 and a sell rate of EGP 30.96, the official rate between the EGP and USD remains stable.

The euro is valued at EGP 32.79 for purchasing and EGP 32.94 for selling.

The Saudi riyal is priced at EGP 8.22 for buying and EGP 8.25 for selling.
