The offer applies to students nominated by Egypt's Ministry of Higher Education and covers full-time, visiting, and enrolled students in accredited programs at the university.

The discount comes as a result of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on the sidelines of the Egyptian-British Forum taking place in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) from Sunday to Thursday.

The MoU was signed by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Essex.

This MoU aims to bolster academic collaboration between both sides, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Tuesday.

Under the agreement, the university will offer incentives to the Egyptian students participating in its programs, particularly postgraduate programs.

The MoU will also facilitate the admission of qualified Egyptian students into academic programs that align with their majors at the University of Essex.

It also involves collaboration in organizing activities geared towards enriching students' experiences.

Rasha Kamal, the Egyptian Cultural Attaché in London, said the MoU aims to enhance collaboration in research projects of mutual interest, student exchange programs, faculty exchange, cross-border academic programs, and dual-degree programs.

It also targets the establishment of a university branch in cooperation with the ministry, Kamal, who represented the Egyptian side in the signing, added.

Egypt and the UK have close partnerships in higher education and scientific research.

In May, Egypt and the UK celebrated seven years of scientific research cooperation under the Newton-Mosharafa Fund, which supports research and innovation to advance economic development and social welfare.

On Monday, the British Council signed two MoUs with the higher education ministry and Egypt's Science and Technology Development Fund to foster scientific research and knowledge exchange.

The two MoUs underscore the significance of UK-Egypt collaboration in the transnational education sector, further strengthening ties between the two nations.
