The 25-year old striker scored five goals in Nantes opening six league games matching the achievement of Chadian player Japhet N'Doram during the start of the 1995-1996 season.

"I haven't achieved anything yet. I want to score more goals and help the team. My ambition never ends as we aim to finish in a good position in the league this season,” he said in a video posted on Nantes X account on Tuesday.

"I like the enthusiasm of the fans, they always appreciate players who give their all, and I try to do that every time I step on the field. I also want to thank my teammates for their support," he added.

Mohamed stressed that his recent goal for Nantes against Lorient was no stroke of luck as he has been practicing a lot on set pieces recently. His sublime free kick to help Nantes claim a 5-3 win over over Lorient on Saturday.

"Nothing comes easily. I trained on that goal constantly, and I trained on penalties and shooting from outside the box. There are things that don't come by chance," he added.

The former Zamalek and Galatasaray striker shared a video on Monday on his X account displaying an earlier training session with the Egyptian national team, during which he was training on free kicks.

Mostafa Mohamed is steadily becoming a top contender for the Ligue 1 top scorer, with only two goals shy from Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, who currently leads the scoring charts.

After initially joining Nantes on loan from Galatasaray in 2022, Mostafa Mohamed's exceptional performances convinced the French side to exercise their buy-out option at the start of the season.

Last season, he made a lasting impact with 13 goals and five assists in 54 games across all competitions.
