While confident in the readiness of his players, Vitoria hopes to avoid any serious setbacks that could reduce their chances of achieving their goals.
Under Vitoria's guidance, the Pharaohs secured their spot in the prestigious tournament, which will be held in Cote d'Ivoire, after finishing at the top of Group D during the qualifiers.
"We will be combining new and experienced players in Egypt's squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, but our priority is to ensure the team remains injury-free," Vitoria stated in an interview with beIn Sports.
Reflecting on previous campaigns, the Egypt national team coach emphasized the impact of injuries and expressed his desire to avoid a repeat scenario in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Cote d'Ivoire 2023 will be held from 13 January 2024 until 11 February.
With the AFCON 2023 qualifiers now completed, Egypt and other qualified nations, such as Morocco, Algeria, Cameroon, and hosts Cote d'Ivoire, will be engaged in a fierce battle to claim the title of Africa's football champions.
"When I speak with the players, I sense their eagerness to make history for Egypt and enhance their professional careers with an international title," added the Portuguese coach.
"We are thrilled to participate in the African Cup of Nations," Vitoria concluded.
