Are you suffering from under-eye wrinkles? Don’t worry, they can be a pain for many people. The area under the eyes is the most delicate part of the face, and as a result it is more prone to wrinkles.

Under-eye wrinkles can appear due to reasons that include stress, excessive smoking, exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, including sunlight, lack of moisturisation, repetitive facial movements, and a poor lifestyle.

Wrinkles can also be a natural part of the aging process, and they can develop between the ages of 40 and 50 as the skin loses moisture and thickness. As we get older, our skin naturally becomes weaker, less hydrated, and less stretchy, causing lines to form. Fortunately, there are many ways to prevent wrinkles and to reduce their appearance.

So, instead of using expensive creams and serums for wrinkles, you can try some of these remedies at home to remove them from under the eyes effectively.

Aloe Vera, yoghurt, and cucumber:

Aloe Vera has therapeutic, nourishing, and healing properties that can aid in treating wrinkles and restoring the skin’s smoothness. It is also a great anti-ageing product and is rich in Vitamins C, E, and beta-carotene, which can help increase collagen production, refill lost nourishment, and promote healthy wrinkle-free skin. Yoghurt is rich in alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), which can exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin.

Mix two tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel with one tablespoon of yoghurt and four tablespoons of cucumber juice to form a paste. Apply the mixture under the eyes and massage it gently for ten minutes. Keep the mixture on for 20 minutes and then rinse with clean water and repeat daily for best results.

Banana and honey:

Honey is full of antioxidants and has anti-ageing properties that can help reduce the appearance of fine lines under the eyes. Banana is enriched with natural oils, minerals, and skin-friendly Vitamins like A, C, and E that can nourish and moisturise the delicate under-eye skin, thus treating wrinkles.

Mash half a banana with two teaspoons of honey to create a uniform mixture. Apply this paste to your under-eye wrinkles and let it stay on for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off with warm water to boost the health of the skin under the eyes. Repeat three times a week for best results.

Coffee bean and cocoa powder:

Coffee bean powder and cocoa powder are rich in antioxidants and can effectively reduce the damage caused by free radicals. They work well on fine lines and under-eye wrinkles and can give you smoother, younger-looking skin.

Mix one tablespoon of freshly ground coffee powder with one tablespoon of cocoa powder and one tablespoon of honey. Apply the mixture to the under-eye area and massage gently for a few minutes and let it remain in place for 15 minutes. Rinse with clean water and repeat daily for best results.

Carrot juice:

Carrots are a rich source of antioxidants and Vitamin A. They can also boost the collagen production that can reduce the appearance of under-eye wrinkles.

Dip a cotton ball in one tablespoon of carrot juice and then dab around the eyes. Leave to dry for ten minutes and then rinse with cold water and repeat three times a week for best results.

Olive oil:

Packed with Vitamins E and K, olive oil is a rich source of antioxidants and can keep the skin soft, healthy, and moisturised.

Clean your face well with a mild face wash. Take two drops of olive oil on the fingers and apply under the eyes and massage smoothly for a few minutes. Let the oil stay on for 10 minutes and then rinse with clean water. Repeat daily. Regular massages with olive oil around the eye area can keep it free of under-eye wrinkles.
