Alonso, an eminent architect, educator, and the Principal of the cutting-edge Los Angeles-based Architecture Office HDA-X. Notably, he also holds the prestigious position of Director at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc).

Thurs 12, 1pm: “The Historical Origins of the Contemporary European Radical Right” the radical right seems to be everywhere in Europe. Qurans are burned in Denmark and Sweden, Italy has a prime minister with a background in neo-fascism, and Hungary’s prime minister warns against the death of the “old” West as Muslims take over. One way of understanding all this is to look at the historical origins of the ‘European Radical Right’, which is what Mark Sedgwick, professor of Arab and Islamic Studies at Aarhus University in Denmark, will explore in his lecture.

Italian courses registration for face-to-face/online general courses is open (session October-December 2023). The course will last for 50 hours and will be carried out face-to-face at Italian Cultural Institute in Zamalek and Downtown and online through Zoom, with native/bilingual teachers.
Duration from 14 October to 10 December, 2023.
Schedule: three times a week determined by the Institute in only one of the following timings: (Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Saturday, from 5-7pm or from 7-9pm). It is not possible to choose the timing in advance as it is subject to assignment based on the total number of the students registered and the teacher’s availability. Deadline is 16 September, 2023. The panel will feature speakers: Nabil Fahmy, Dean Emeritus, GAPP, and Former Foreign Minister of Egypt, Bahgat Korany, Professor of International Relations and Political Economy, AUC, and Professor of political science at Cairo University Ali El Din Hilal.
