Organised by the Cairo Opera House, the 22nd Citadel Festival for Music and Singing taking place from 29 August to 5 September featuring concerts by local musicians

The Cairo Opera House organises the Citadel Festival for Music and Singing as a window into Egyptian fine arts through a diverse line up of 23 concerts on three stages located at the Cairo's citadel.

The Citadel festival features Arab pop stars Mohamed El-Helw, Ali El-Haggar, Syrian singer Majed El-Qassem, Moroccan singer Jannat among others. Young musicians will also take the stage during the festival, ranging from pop to classical music to jazz such as Ahmed Rabie jazz band and Eskenderella.

The festival seeks to spread contemporary culture and music among the Egyptian public in the historic setting of the Saladin Citadel.

All events taking place at El-Mahka 1 Theatre start at 8pm, those at El-Mahka 2 Theatre concerts start at 10pm, while those at the Open-Air Theatre of the Cairo Opera House start at 8pm.
