The vigil was attended by Khaled Al-Balshy, head of the syndicate; and several members of the syndicate's board.

The participants, who were seen holding Palestinian flags, chanted slogans against Israel and the US.

The gathering was held following the conclusion of a 'Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People against the Zionist Aggression' event organized by the Syndicate.

The event included several segments, including lightening candles in remembrance of the victims of the occupation throughout the past decades.

It also hosted a caricature and photo exhibition in a show of solidarity with Palestinians.

The event also featured the screening of a documentary prepared by Palestinian TV on the current escalation.

On Monday, students at the American University in Cairo held a demonstration at the university campus in New Cairo to stand in solidarity with Palestinians amid the war between the Israeli and Palestinian sides.

Over the past few hours, demonstrations were held in several cities around the world in support of the Palestinian people amid the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza enclave.

Over 950 Palestinians have been killed since Israel started its airstrikes on Gaza, and 5,000 wounded, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

The ministry added that 60 percent of casualties were children and senior citizens.

The Israeli airstrikes, which have caused destruction, casualties, and displacement in the coastal enclave, followed surprising incursions into Israel by Hamas on Saturday.
