"My goal is to showcase our team's character in every game we participate in. We are committed to playing an attacking style of football, and our goal is always the same: to win games," stated the Portuguese coach during the pre-game press conference.
The Pharaohs are set to square off against Algeria in the United Arab Emirates, marking their final warm-up match before the start of the 2026 African World Cup qualifiers in November.
"We opted for Algeria because we wanted to progressively raise the level of intensity and engage in challenging encounters," he added.
In their recent encounter, Egypt secured a 1-0 victory over Zambia in the UAE camp.
"I currently have a surplus of quality players. Many of them possess the versatility to adapt to various positions, providing me with a wealth of options and flexibility," Vitoria concluded.
Egypt conceded a 1-1 draw against Algeria in their last encounter in the 2021 Arab Cup but both sides had second-string teams. It was their first game in a decade since Egypt dominated Algeria with a resounding 4-0 victory in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final.
