Following their 1-0 victory against Zambia in a friendly match at the same stadium, Egypt is set to face Algeria in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
"Algeria is a very good team, and we have great respect for them," Mostafa Mohamed stated during the pre-match news conference on Sunday.
"This game is an important step in our preparations for the African qualifiers for the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations."
"Our goal is to win the Africa Cup of Nations and secure a spot in the World Cup."
"We will give our best efforts to achieve our mission," he concluded.
Mohamed has secured a place in Rui Vitoria's starting XI, relying on his abilities to lead the Pharaohs' frontline as the sole striker.
The Nantes striker has delivered impressive performances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring five goals in seven league games.
He has represented Egypt in 28 international matches, scoring seven goals so far.
