Art D’Egypte, in collaboration with Picasso gallery, organize the third edition of “Cairo International Art District” CIAD, a unique Visual Arts District in the heart of Downtown Cairo. CIAD will run parallel to the third edition of “Forever Is Now” at the Pyramids of Giza opening on 26 October and set to be accompanied by a special festival of art and design soon to be announced UNESCO world heritage site. CIAD merges Egyptian heritage with contemporary art in Downtown Cairo showcasing works by the likes of Ingy Efflatoun, Gazbia Sirry, Tahia Halim, Mustafa El-Razzaz and Kamal El-Feki. Exhibition locations include the entire Cinema Radio complex on Talaat Harb Street; Access Art Space, The Warehouse, and the Corridor next to the Radio Complex

“Baalbek” is an interactive audio visual installation by Hungarian artists Andrea Sztovánovits and Gergely Álmos as part of D-CAF events (Free entrance from 5pm to 10pm, except Fridays and Saturdays from 2pm to 10pm, 17-23 October).
“Drink Your Milk” is a series of animated poems about our bodies, our voices and who controls them. After stunning audiences at the Women of the World Festival in Pakistan, the film poems will make their Arab world premiere at D-CAF. The project is produced by Golden Hour Productions, which seeks to deliver heartfelt, literary events with a focus on collaboration. Drink Your Milk was brought to life by six artists (Free entrance from 5pm to 10pm, except Fridays and Saturdays from 2pm to 10pm, 17-23 October).

“Folklore” exhibition of paintings is a long overdue revisiting of late pioneer Zaccaria El-Zeini’s (1932-1993) celebrated oeuvre. This collection has been formed through a combination of works sourced from the private collections of the artist’s surviving heirs. It spans an impressive assortment of mediums including; oils, watercolors, pencil drawings and lithographs, across figurative, abstract and still life compositions, a comprehensive representation of El-Zeini’s diverse body of work. It was El-Zeini’s insatiable fascination with the obscure folkloric rites and rituals that permeated the peripheries of Egyptian society, which served as the definitive underpinning of his artistic exploits (3-25 October).

“Roznama” exhibition 9th edition with the participation of the Italian Raffaella Frascarelli (Nomas Foundation) includes 33 artists, and the exhibited artworks will be displayed at five venues between Cairo and Alexandria. A series of activities and talks will be held in parallel of the main event to expand on its mission of giving the means and the space to the young artists. The 9th edition of Roznama is supported by the French Cultural Institute, ADD Art, Italian Culture Institute, and the British Council in Egypt. Open daily from 12pm to 9pm, except Fridays and official holidays, Roznama 9 parallel programme of talks will be held each Monday within October 16, 23, 30 from 6:30pm to 10pm. The exhibition is organized, in collaboration with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the Emilia Romagna Region, the Giannino Stoppani Cooperative/Accademia Drosselmeier, Don Bosco Institute, and the Honorary Consul of Italy in Alexandria.
