Thirteen Palestinians, including five children, were killed late Thursday in an Israeli army raid on the Nour Shams refugee camp near the city of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli attack, which spanned 27 continuous hours from early Thursday to Friday morning, involved heavy gunfire and the use of an explosive-laden drone targeting civilians, the Palestinian News Agency WAFA reported.

Seven of those killed in the attack were transferred to Tulkarm Governmental Hospital, while the remaining five were placed inside a mosque, as rescue teams struggled to transport them due to an Israeli-imposed siege that has cut off electricity, water, and all means of communication within the camp.

Separately, at least 21 Palestinians were killed and 79 others injured, in Israeli air strikes on the city of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, local sources told Palestinian news agency WAFA on Friday.

The Israeli strikes targeted six residential houses in Khan Yunis, killing almost two dozen civilians, the majority being women and children, local sources said.

The attack comes after several displaced Palestinians were killed and injured in an Israeli strike at a church compound in Gaza late Thursday. The church has been a shelter for hundreds of Palestinians seeking refuge from Israel's deadly war on Gaza.

More than 3,700 Palestinians, mainly civilians, have been killed across the Gaza Strip in relentless Israeli bombardments on the coastal territory, Palestinian health ministry figures say.

The grisly retaliation comes after an unprecedented Hamas attack on October 7 that killed at least 1,400 people, according to Israeli officials.
