The Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid pointed out that there has been a "clear pattern of targeting Egypt in Western media since the beginning of the war on Gaza".

These accusations aim, "to promote the Israeli forced displacement scenario of the Palestinians, which Egypt firmly rejects," he said on his X account.

The spokesman emphasized that the crossing is open, and Egypt is not responsible for obstructing the exit of third-country nationals.

Israeli airstrikes hit the crossing from the Palestinians side 4 times over the past week.

Egyptian authorities said the crossing is damaged by these airstrikes.
