"In light of the deeply distressing situation in Gaza, the management of El Gouna Film Festival has decided to postpone the forthcoming sixth edition of the festival," read a festival press release.
Earlier this month, the festival announced the first postponement (to 27 October) "due to the outbreak of Al-Aqsa Flood and the hardships in Palestine."
In the recent announcement, the festival also revealed that it will donate EGP 5 million [USD 161,000] "to fortify the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, in partnership with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society."
"The GFF management aspires for the resumption of the 6th edition when the situation stabilizes in the Palestinian lands."
