Berekum Chelsea coach Hans Van der Pluijm has said his side must beat Zamalek if there are to qualify for the CAF Champions League semi-final.

"We will work hard to beat Zamalek, not wait for the result of the Mazembe and Ahly game," Pluijm told reporters on Thursday.

"The Zamalek game will be difficult but they are our gate to the semis," he added.

"Mazembe’s win over Zamalek in Cairo and our draw with Ahly in Ghana damaged our efforts to reach the semis, but we still have a chance to qualify."

Berekum Chelsea face Zamalek in Cairo in September, while TP Mazembe of DR Congo will host Ahly.

Ghanaian Champions Chelsea are third in Group B with five points, two behind TP Mazembe and five behind the group leader Ahly, while Zamalek are in the bottom with no points.
