Market watch: Egypt's bourse indices start week at highest levels ever

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices started the week with great leaps, with all indices reaching their highest level ever.

Stock market
 

EGX30 index jumped by 2.37 percent,  settling at 22,128.49 points and the EGX70 index surged 3.68 percent, ending at 4,063.36 points.

The EGX100 index soared 3.54 percent index to close at 6,154.78 points.

The market capitalization gained more than EGP 35 billion, ending at EGP 1,508 billion.

General Company For Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction was the biggest winner in the market. The stock surged 20 percent to close at EGP 35.76 per share.

The greatest loser was Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical. The stock fell 5.33 percent to end at EGP 0.711 per share.

Gold purchase prices
 

On Sunday, the purchase price of 24-carat gold reached EGP 2,794 per gram.

The 21-carat gold price settled at EGP 2,445 per gram.

The 18-carat gold price stood at EGP 2,096 per gram.

The price of a pound of gold amounted to EGP 19,560 for purchase.

Currencies
 

With a buy rate of EGP 30.83 and a sell rate of EGP 30.96, the official rate between the EGP and USD remains stable.

The euro is valued at EGP 32.65 for purchases and EGP 32.80 for sales.

The Saudi riyal is priced at EGP 8.22 to buy and EGP 8.25 to sell.
