He will also stress the necessity of an immediate halt to Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people, according the statement.
Shoukry will also highlight the efforts that Egypt is making to stop the bloodshed, provide protection for civilians in the Gaza Strip, and introduce humanitarian and relief aid in a sustainable manner, Abu Zeid added.
Additionally, Shoukry will warn of the dangers of it spreading to other regions and getting out of control.
Brazil called for the session in its capacity as council president for the month of October.
Last Wednesday, the 15-member UNSC failed to adopt a Brazilian draft resolution calling for a "humanitarian pause" to Israel’s war on Gaza and urging Israel to rescind its order for Gaza civilians to move to the south of the Palestinian enclave.
12 out of the 15 members voted for the resolution, while Russia and Britain abstained.
However, the United States voted against it, vetoing the resolution.
