President El-Sisi was briefed on the outcomes of the Democratic and Republican parties of the US Senate delegation’s visit to Israel as they discussed the recent developments in Gaza and Israel, according to the Egyptian presidency.

El-Sisi emphasized the importance Egypt places on continuous communication with the leadership of the US Congress as part of the coordination and consultation between the two countries on various issues.

He also shared with the delegation led by US Senator Lindsey Graham his views and assessment of the situation between Israel and Gaza.

He emphasized the urgent need to work towards de-escalation and to intensify coordination among all relevant parties to advance a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue.

This settlement should safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people and establish their independent state in accordance with international laws and related United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Both parties agreed on the seriousness of the current situation, the necessity to prevent escalation of the ongoing conflict, the protection of civilians, the provision of humanitarian and relief aid to Gaza, and the importance of reviving the peace process in the region, said the Egyptian presidency.

The meeting between President El-Sisi and the US bipartisan senators was attended by Sameh Shoukry, the minister of foreign affairs, and General Abbas Kamel, the head of general intelligence.
