Egypt’s FA announces date of Djibouti World Cup qualifier. EFA
The Pharaohs are set to host Djibouti in the qualifiers opener before facing Sierra Leone away three days later in the second round.
Egypt, who qualified for the World Cup on three occasions before: in 1934, 1990, and 2018, were drawn in Group A of the qualifiers alongside Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.
According to EFA, the national team is set to hold a preparatory camp for both Djibouti and Sierra Leone games from 13 to 21 November.
Amid preparations for the two World Cup qualifiers of November, the Egyptian team played two friendly games in UAE last month; beating Zambia 1-0 before securing a 1-1 draw against Algeria.
Under the guidance of Portuguese tactician Rui Vitoria, Egypt already secured their record-extending 26th appearance in the 2024 African Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast next January.
