The Egyptian Red Crescent will “purchase and supply the relief materials from Egyptian markets, ship and bring them to the Gaza Strip,” as per the agreement signed by Nevine El-Qabbaj, Egyptian minister of social solidarity.
The aid will include food, medical supplies, and relief materials such as tents, blankets, heaters, and other materials needed by the Palestinian people, read the statement.
El-Qabbaj highlighted the distinguished relationship between the Egyptian and Bahraini peoples and the fraternal relations between Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
This protocol “brings together the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt in a way that alleviates the painful affliction that the Palestinian brothers are going through as a result of the ongoing war in Gaza,” said Mustafa Al-Sayed, secretary-general of Bahraini Royal Humanitarian Foundation.
Early on Wednesday, Egyptian ambulances entered Gaza to pick up wounded Palestinians to transfer them to Egypt for treatment after a Qatar-mediated deal was reached between Egypt, Hamas, and Israel to allow for the movement of foreign passport holders and some critically injured people out of besieged Gaza.
The Palestinian death toll in Gaza has risen to 8,796, including 3,648 children, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
