The shipment, provided by Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), includes 28 tons of medicines, hemostatics, and medical dressing supplies.

This is the second contribution from Russia since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza on 7 October.

On 19 October, the EMERCOM delivered 27 tons of food supplies to Gaza through Egypt.

Egypt has designated North Sinai's Al-Arish airport as a receiving point for international humanitarian assistance to be delivered to Gaza.

Israel has so far allowed a trickle of desperately needed aid into the blockaded Palestinian strip.

More than 100 trucks of aid are needed per day to cover urgent needs, according to the UN’s estimates.

On Friday, the UN launched an emergency aid appeal seeking $1.2 billion to help some 2.7 million people in Gaza and the West Bank.

Israel has killed 9,227 Palestinians since the onset of the war, including 3,826 children and 2,405 women, and injured 23,516 others, the Palestinian Ministry of Health stated on Friday.
