According to the ERC, the delivery comprised 47 trucks carrying food, water, relief supplies, medicines, and medical equipment.

During a UN briefing session with member states in New York on Friday, UN Humanitarian Coordinator Martin Griffiths stated that 329 trucks carrying aid have entered Gaza through the Rafah crossing so far, with 100 making the journey on Thursday alone.

However, he noted that an average of 500 truckloads were needed prior to the conflict.

In a statement Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter, the CEO of the ERC Rami El-Nazir stated that the stock of aid coming from around the world for Gaza is on the verge of running out.

El-Nazir urged everyone to continue supporting the critical humanitarian campaign for Gaza.

The health system in Gaza has been overwhelmed due to severe shortages of supplies, water, electricity, and personnel. To date, 14 out of 35 hospitals and 51 of 72 primary health clinics have shut down. Only one of the three water supply lines from Israel is operational, as per the UN's statement during the Friday briefing session.

On Thursday, the World Health Organization denounced the lack of safety guarantees for aid convoys inside Gaza, stating that it was nearly impossible to get medical supplies to hospitals. The WHO emphasized that the health needs in the strip are soaring while its ability to meet them is declining.

Since 7 October, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of more than 9,061 people, including 3,760 children, and have wounded more than 22,000, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
