According to the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi stressed Egypt's deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
He presented the intensive, constant efforts made by Egypt to ensure the entry of as much aid as possible to meet the needs of Palestinians.
Egypt continues its efforts with various regional and international parties to push for an immediate ceasefire, and also emphasizes the necessity of working towards a two-state solution, said El-Sisi.
The meeting addressed the outstanding and extensive cooperation between Egypt and the WFP and discussed Egypt's new national plan in cooperation with the program for the period from 2023 to 2028.
President El-Sisi also emphasized the importance that Egypt attaches to food security and nutrition at the national level, supported by the country's "Decent Life" and "Takaful and Karama” projects.
These projects contribute to food security by developing the Egyptian countryside and securing livelihoods for millions of Egyptians, the Egyptian president said.
From her side, McCain expressed the WFP's appreciation for the projects, which serve as successful models for other countries to emulate.
The WFP director also expressed her gratitude to Egypt for its leadership in coordinating regional aid from the WFP and other relevant international organizations.
Minister of Agriculture El-Sayyed El-Qusair also attended the meeting.
