Winger Taher Mohamed Taher showcased his brilliance just moments before halftime, delivering a directed strike from inside the area that found the far corner of the net.
As the match approached its conclusion, right-back Mohamed Hany extended Ahly's lead with a well-executed finish.
However, Uganda's left-back Joseph Ochaya managed to pull one back for Arab Contractors through a penalty kick in the dying minutes of the game to keep the game intense in the remaining minutes.
Swiss coach Marcel Koller made nine changes to the team that started the game against Sundowns on Wednesday keeping only defender Mohamed Abdel-Moneim and Emam Ashour in the starting lineup.
Ahly had a chance to open the scoring early in the match when Emam Ashour unleashed a rocket from outside the area, only to be denied by the crossbar in the 17th minute.
The Red Devils enjoyed a large ball possession of 67 per cent but had to wait until the 45th minute when Taher exchanged passes with Mohamed "Afsha" Magdy to break the deadlock with a powerful shot from inside the box.
Ahly maintained their pressure after the break and Ahmed Abdel-Kader came close to doubling the lead just five minutes into the second half, but his low strike from inside the area missed the target.
In the 84th minute Ashour sent a cutback pass to Hany who doubled Ahly's lead with a calm finish from inside the box.
Arab Contractors pulled one back as they were awarded a penalty kick following a handball on subsitute midfielder Aliou Dieng inside the area. Ochaya made it 2-1 from the spot in the 88th minute but that wasn't enough to get them anything out of this game.
With Saturday’s win, the Red Devils catapulted up the league table, securing the fifth position with a full mark of nine points and they still have three games in hand.
On the other hand, Arab Contractors continued to struggle in the relegation zone, currently occupying the 17th place in the table, having managed only two points from two draws despite playing six matches.
