According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shoukry and Pinto agreed on the need for a ceasefire to protect the lives of Palestinians, to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians, and to reject Israel's policies of collective punishment in the Gaza Strip.

The Foreign Minister of Venezuela conveyed a message of support to Egypt from Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro for its support of Palestinian rights.

Venezuela has been among the most outspoken countries in South America criticizing Israel for its war on Gaza. President Maduro has called what is happening in Gaza a “genocide against the Palestinian people”.

Minister Shoukry extolled Venezuela and Egypt's common respect for international law, commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, support for the self-determination of people under foreign occupation, and rejection of unilateral sanctions outside the framework of the United Nations.

Aside from Gaza, Shoukry and Pinto also discussed cooperation in multilateral forums, and developments in international issues such as the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Minister Shoukry emphasized the importance of enhancing trade between the two countries, as well as expanding bilateral cooperation into other areas such as agriculture, fisheries, civil aviation, information technology, oil and natural gas, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and tourism.

Pinto also expressed his country's aspiration to broaden economic cooperation and increase Venezuelan investments in Egypt soon.

The Foreign Minister of Venezuela is currently on an African tour that started with Ethiopia, followed by Rwanda and Uganda before landing in Egypt.
