Egyptian FM Sameh Shoukry and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, they discussed the delivery of necessary humanitarian and relief assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip.
Both ministers emphasized the imperative of ending this tragic situation as soon as possible and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian population.
The ministers also exchanged views on coordinating international pressure to halt aggression against the Palestinian people.
They also discussed the security implications of Israel's military aggression and its effects on international security, stressing the need to prevent an expansion of the conflict in the wider region.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry also announced that Shoukry has discussed the situation in Gaza with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and Romania’s Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu.
According to Odobescu, the telephone discussion with her Egyptian counterpart also involved coordinating efforts for the evacuation of Romanian citizens once the Rafah crossing reopens.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry stated that there are 260 Romanian nationals in Gaza whom it has been working to evacuate since mid-October.
