The UN team will advise the Egyptian Red Crescent Society on the delivery of aid to Gaza, Dujarric added.
The team will be based in Arish city, where Arish International Airport serves the Rafah crossing, the UN spokesperson said.
In mid-October, Egypt designated North Sinai's El-Arish International Airport for receiving international humanitarian assistance to be delivered to Gaza.
The capital of North Sinai, Arish is located about 50km west of the Rafah border crossing, the only crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.
Aid Trucks
On Tuesday, according to Dujarric, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said 50 aid trucks crossed into Gaza through the Rafah border crossing on Monday, bringing the number of trucks to enter Gaza to 526 since 21 October. No fuel has entered Gaza through Rafah, the OCHA said.
However, the Egyptian Red Crescent reported the entrance to Gaza of 93 trucks on the same day, bringing the total number of aid trucks to 569.
Addressing the disparity on Tuesday, Dujarric said that "the fact that the Egyptian Red Crescent is ahead of us, given that they're there and they're the main operator, is not surprising."
Some 33 days into the war, the death toll in Gaza has reached over 10,000, with the occupation forces targeting hospitals with the intention of destroying them and killing those inside them, including patients, doctors, and displaced people, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Over 1.5 million people have been displaced in Gaza. The 13 northern Gaza hospitals are being evacuated by force, according to the OCHA.
The Khan Younis training centre shelters 22,000 displaced people. Each person has a space of less than two square metres, while 600 people share the same toilet, Dujarric said.
