According to the Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy, the meeting focused on the latest developments in Israel's war against Gaza, where El-Sisi reviewed Egypt's related efforts, from receiving injured Palestinians to evacuating foreign nationals through the Rafah border crossing.
Egypt's president stressed the need for the international community to implement the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly in guaranteeing the rights of Palestinians.
El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s categorical rejection of the displacement of Palestinians, either within or outside of their lands, especially to Sinai, with which the European Commission President agreed.
Furthermore, both sides agreed that the only solution to the Palestinian issue lies in a comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution.
Fahmy added that the meeting also touched on ways to enhance Egyptian-European cooperation, strengthening and broadening bilateral relations.
The European Commission President's visit to Egypt comes amid the Israeli war on Gaza that has raged for six weeks.
During her visit, she will travel to Sinai, near the border with Israel, for the arrival of an EU humanitarian convoy.
