The primary aim of this diplomatic initiative is to halt the ongoing war in Gaza and tackle the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the strip, according to a ministry statement.
The delegation represents member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League (AL), in line with the final resolution passed at the Arab-Islamic Summit empowering such a delegation to spearhead “immediate international action” to formulate an end to the war in Gaza.
The foreign ministers will start their tour in China on Monday, according to Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.
The delegation will “convey a clear message that an immediate ceasefire is imperative, and humanitarian aid must be promptly delivered to Gaza," the top Saudi diplomat posted on X.
No additional details regarding the tour itinerary have been made available.
During the tour, the participating foreign ministers will also engage with their counterparts and other political leaders to address the root causes of the crisis by engaging in a serious political process that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, the statement added.
