El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s push for a ceasefire and entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, according to a statement by the Egyptian Presidential Spokesman.

The call also touched on international efforts to prevent the expansion of the current conflict throughout the region.

They also tackled means to achieve a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution.

Israel has killed some 13,000 Palestinians in Gaza and 212 in the West Bank since the beginning of its war on 7 October.

Israeli authorities have rejected all calls for a ceasefire, an end to its blockade on Gaza, and the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid.

Tensions have escalated on the Israel-Lebanon border since the beginning of the war on Gaza on 7 October between the Israeli army and Hezbollah.

El-Sisi and Mikati met in Cairo earlier this month and discussed these same topics.

They urged the international community to assume its responsibilities to promote peace and justice in the region.
