The crossing will also be open for Palestinians stranded in other Egyptian governorates, including Cairo, as of Saturday.
Over the past weeks, Egypt has evacuated several foreigners who were stranded in war-torn Gaza and received dozens of seriously injured Palestinians for treatment in Egyptian hospitals.
Work is underway to implement the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
The agreement, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, includes a four-day ceasefire to facilitate the release of 50 captives held in Gaza, according to Reuters.
In return, 150 Palestinians currently imprisoned in Israel will be freed, and humanitarian aid will be allowed into the besieged Strip.
According to the deal, Israel will refrain from any attacks or arrests in all parts of Gaza during the truce.
Furthermore, for every additional 10 hostages released, the ceasefire will be extended by an additional day.
