Egypt receives 5 Gaza aid planes from Russia, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia

Egypt received five planes carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza from Russia, Oman, UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia at El-Arish Airport on Saturday, according to media reports.

Also on Saturday, seven fuel trucks – four loaded with cooking gas and three with diesel – entered the strip through the Rafah border crossing, Al-Qahera News TV channel reported. 

The three diesel trucks carry 130,000 litres of fuel, according to the head of the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) branch in North Sinai Khaled Zayd in statements to the media.

The ERC also announced that 100 humanitarian aid trucks entered Gaza along with the fuel trucks. 

On Friday, the first day of the Israel-Hamas truce, Egypt received three humanitarian aid planes from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Oman at El-Arish Airport.

The same day, 200 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip, according to the Head of Egypt’s State Information Service (SIS) Diaa Rashwan.

Additionally, four fuel trucks and four cooking gas trucks entered the strip, according to the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) of the Israeli Ministry of Defence.
