The game took place at El-Salam Stadium on Sunday.
Midfielder Ghanam Mohamed proved to be the hero for Modern Future FC, scoring the decisive goal in the 76th minute with a powerful strike from outside the penalty area.
Placed in Group A alongside USM Alger from Algeria, Al Hilal Benghazi from Libya, and SuperSport United, the Egyptian team currently tops the group with three points.
Their position is provisional, pending the outcome of the match between Al Hilal and reigning champions USM Alger later on Sunday.
Despite playing at home, Modern Future FC struggled to capitalize on their advantage during the first half, with SuperSport United's solid defense limiting their scoring opportunities.
In the second half, Portuguese coach Ricardo Formosinho made strategic changes, introducing striker Marwan Mohsen and winger Ayman Sfaxi, who replaced Ahmed Atef and Moahmed Farouk, respectively.
These substitutions proved to be fruitful as Modern Future FC finally broke the deadlock in the 76th minute, securing a hard-fought victory over SuperSport United.
Formosinho continued to make tactical adjustments, bringing on Mohamed Abdel Salam and Aly Zaazaa in place of Khaled Reda and Nasser Maher.
Modern Future FC is determined to avoid a repeat of last year's disappointment when they were eliminated from the secondary continental tournament at the group stage.
Next, they will face Libya's Al-Hilal in the second round of Group A matches, scheduled to take place at Benina Martyrs Stadium on 3 December.
