Market watch: Egyptian Exchange achieves new milestone on Monday

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices returned to their active performance on Monday, and the main index recorded a new all-time high, approaching 26,000 points.

Gold prices were also active, with 24-carat gold surpassing EGP 3,200 per gram.

Stock market
 

The EGX30 index surged 2.39 percent, settling at 25,905.54 points. 

Meanwhile, the EGX70 index rose by 0.75 percent, ending at 5,129.48 points.

The EGX100 index increased by 0.99 percent to close at 7,540.25 points.

The market capitalization gained EGP 20 billion, ending at around EGP 1,722 billion.

National Housing for Professional Syndicates was the biggest winner in the market, surging by 19.93 percent to close at EGP 42.78 per share.

The greatest loser in the market was Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation, whose stock fell 4.82 percent to reach EGP 80.75 per share.

Gold purchase prices
 

The purchase price of 24-carat gold rose by EGP 22 to EGP 3,211 per gram compared to prices on Sunday.

The 21-carat gold increased by EGP 20 to EGP 2,810 per gram.

The 18-carat gold prices reached EGP 2,409 on Sunday, EGP 18 higher than Sunday.

The price of the gold pound coin stood at EGP 22,480 for purchase, up from EGP 22,320 on Sunday.

Currencies
 

With a buy rate of EGP 30.8306 and a sell rate of EGP 30.9586, the official EGP/USD exchange rate remains stable.

The euro is valued at EGP 33.7656 for purchase and EGP 33.9182 for sale.

The Saudi riyal is priced at EGP 8.22 for buying and EGP 8.2545 for selling.
