Ambassador Orfi comments came on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which marks the infamous 29 November 1947 UN Resolution 181, which partitioned Palestine into an Arab state and a Jewish state against the will of the native Palestinian population.

In his speech, Orfi acknowledged the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of adversity.

Orfi condemned the policies of starvation, intimidation, collective punishment, and the indiscriminate killing of civilians in Gaza.

Egypt warns against the continuation of oppressive occupation policies, emphasizing the potential explosive consequences for the region, he said.

Ambassador Orfi highlighted Egypt's tireless efforts to contain the crisis since 7 October, engaging in numerous meetings and communications.

He underscored the Arab foreign ministers' continuous efforts to formulate a comprehensive Arab and Islamic position, as demonstrated in the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh on 11 November.

The ambassador called for Israel to be held accountable for recent brutal massacres in Gaza, urging the International Criminal Court's prosecutor to play a role.

He pointed out that Egypt, in collaboration with Qatar, has worked to extend the truce and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid despite Israeli obstruction.

He declared Palestine as the central issue for Arabs and humanity, advocating for a free, proud, and independent Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Ambassador Orfi expressed gratitude to those supporting justice and urges everyone to align with the right side of history.

He concluded with a resounding "Long live Palestine."
