This came during the two leaders’ meeting on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai on Friday, read a statement by the Egyptian Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
During the meeting, El-Sisi and Macron exchanged views on recent developments in Gaza.
El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's support for a ceasefire and the expansion of humanitarian relief for the strip, as per the statement.
The two presidents agreed on the vital importance of resolving the ongoing crisis soon and ensuring the flow of humanitarian assistance.
El-Sisi also highlighted Egypt’s efforts to receive wounded Palestinians and evacuate foreign nationals.
Egypt has received 575 injured Palestinians from Gaza for medical treatment, the majority of whom are children while the rest are women.
Hundreds of foreign passport holders from Gaza out of around 7,000 foreigners in the strip have been received by Egypt since the beginning of November.
El-Sisi arrived Thursday in Dubai to participate in the 28th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), hosted by the UAE from 30 November to 12 December.
In Dubai, El-Sisi will review Egypt’s efforts at COP27 to address the challenges of developing and African countries, according to Fahmy.
El-Sisi is also scheduled to hold talks with a host of heads of state and government in Dubai to discuss various international issues, the spokesman noted.
