Jaafar Iddriss opened the scoring as early as the third minute after being found unmarked at the far post to tap home from close range.

The Egyptians regained their composure but had to wait until the 65th minute to grab a well-deserved equalizer when Marwan Mohsen intercepted a through ball behind the defense to beat the keeper from inside the box.

However, Modern Future FC were dealt a blow when defender Ali El-Feel received a red card for a second bookable offence.

Using their numerical advantage, Al-Hilal pressed hard and came close to scoring twice but were denied by an impressive Mahmoud “Abdel-Rehim” Gennesh between the sticks.

In the 90+3 minute, Gambian 20-year-old forward Kajally Drammeh scored the winner after meeting a cross from Ali Zaazaa at the near post.

The game was interrupted due to crowd trouble, but the final minutes saw no change as the Egyptians will return home with the three points.

Modern Future FC are now joint leaders of the group with six points alongside USMA of Algiers. The two North African rivals will meet in top-of-the-table clashes on 10 and 20 December.
