Zamalek and Ittihad match postponed amid CAF rescheduling for Confederation Cup clash

Ahram Online , Wednesday 6 Dec 2023

The Egyptian Pro League (EPL) have postponed the match between Zamalek and Ittihad of Alexandria, originally scheduled for Thursday.

The decision came after Zamalek received official communication from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday. The EPL has not yet provided a new date for the Zamalek and Ittihad of Alexandria match.

According to the letter from CAF, Zamalek vs. Sagrada Esperança fixture in the Confederation Cup has been rescheduled to take place 24 hours earlier than initially planned and is now set for Saturday instead of Sunday.

The change was implemented for marketing reasons associated with CAF, although specific details were not disclosed.

Zamalek currently leads Group B with six points, outpacing both Libyan team Abu Salim and Angola’s Sagrada Esperança
