El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the kind gesture of the Turkish president and Qatari emir, read statements by the Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
Securing a third term in office, El-Sisi obtained 39.7 million votes, or nearly 89.6 percent of valid votes, in the nation’s 2024 presidential elections in December, according to the National Election Authority.
During the call, El-Sisi and Erdogan also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and increase areas of cooperation to achieve the interests of the two peoples.
They also discussed the developments across the region, especially the ongoing efforts to impose a ceasefire in the war-torn Gaza Strip and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, added the statement.
Earlier in September, El-Sisi and Erdogan held talks on the sidelines of the 18th G20 Summit in New Delhi -- their first extended meeting after the two countries resumed diplomatic relations earlier in the summer, ending a 10-year rift.
Early in July, Cairo and Ankara upgraded diplomatic relations to the ambassadorial level.
For his part, Sheikh Tamim confirmed to El-Sisi Qatar’s commitment to continue cooperating with Egypt.
El-Sisi also asserted that Egypt will persist in its efforts to advance bilateral cooperation with Qatar across all areas.
