The 37-year-old, who announced his retirement from international football in February 2022, was recently included in the preliminary list of 55 players for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, as announced by Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria last week.
"Playing for the national team is a tremendous honor for any player," Abdallah El-Saed told a TV channel on Thursday.
"I am uncertain whether I will be part of the final selection or not. However, if given the opportunity, I would be extremely delighted and would not hesitate to accept the call."
El-Saed, who made his international debut on June 14, 2008, in a World Cup qualifier against Malawi, has accumulated six goals in 55 appearances during his twelve-year international career.
He notably participated in the Nations Cup in 2017, 2019, and 2021, making three appearances in each edition.
The 2023 African Nations Cup is set to start in Ivory Coast from 13 January to 11 February 2024.
Egypt is placed in Group B alongside Ghana, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
