Egypt team heads to Cote d'Ivoire ahead of AFCON start

Egypt’s national football team headed to Côte d'Ivoire on Tuesday afternoon ahead of their anticipated participation in the African Cup of Nations scheduled to take place from 13 January to 11 February.

According to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), the team ended their last training in Cairo early on Tuesday ahead of heading to the airport.
The Pharaohs comfortably secured a 2-0 win over Tanzania at Cairo Stadium, with both teams using the match as preparation for the tournament.

Egypt have been drawn into Group B of AFCON 2023, alongside Ghana, Mozambique, and Cape Verde.

The seven-time African champions will kick off their campaign against Mozambique on 14 January, followed by a clash with Ghana four days later, concluding their group stage against Cape Verde on 22 January.
