He made the remarks during a virtual press conference held by the World Health Organization (WHO) on the updates of the situation of health emergencies in the Middle East region.
Egypt has received medical aid through land, sea, and air allocated for Gaza, Tag El-Din said, adding that hundreds of Egyptians have volunteered to offer aid to Palestinians.
He said that the Egyptian Red Crescent has offered assistance with an estimated cost of $70 million.
On Sunday, Egypt’s State Information Service Chairman Diaa Rashwan stated that the major hurdle for the swift delivery of aid to Gaza over the past 100 days has been the deliberate delays imposed by Israeli authorities inspecting the aid at border crossings.
Nearly 9,000 trucks crossed from the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing to Gaza during the 100 days of the war, added Rashwan.
He indicated that private and public Egyptian contributions comprise 82 percent of all aid delivered to Gaza.
Rashwan noted that Egypt has received 1,210 patients from Gaza for treatment in Egyptian and friendly countries' hospitals.
