Egypt, which came eighth in the list, has made a significant impact in 2023 as one of the most promising tourist destinations after lifting COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the report confirmed.

The report also drew attention to Egypt’s affordable prices to Western travellers and the interest in cultural expeditions among Americans, making Egypt an ideal destination for tourists.

Furthermore, the website described Egypt as "the land of Pharaohs, boasting unique landscapes, a fascinating culture, and a plethora of world wonders.”

“It seems pretty safe to say that Egypt has been one of 2023’s rising stars,” the report noted.

According to Google searches, Egypt is expected to experience an unprecedented year in terms of tourism in 2024.

Recently, data from trip booking platform Flash Pack, which specializes in trips for solo travellers in their 30s and 40s, has revealed that Egypt ranked third in its list of top 10 most booked destinations for 2024.

Similarly, Egypt was listed in the Lonely Planet travel guide among the Best in Travel 2024, holding onto its sixth-place ranking in the list of Best Value Destinations.

In 2023, the number of incoming tourists to Egypt reached a record-breaking 14.9 million.

Egypt aims to attract 30 million tourists annually by 2028, thus doubling the current figure.

In FY2022/23, Egypt's tourism revenues hit a record high of $13.6 billion, up 26.8 percent from $10.7 billion in FY2021/2022, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
