Vitoria declined to comment on his future with the team following their recent dip in form.

After drawing in the first two rounds of the AFCON group stage, the Pharaohs sit in second place in Group B with two points. They trail Cape Verde, who have already secured a spot in the round of 16 with four points.

"We are well aware that we will face a tough opponent, but we have prepared thoroughly for all the teams in the group," Vitoria stated during the pre-game press conference.

"We must demonstrate determination and play with intensity to overcome Cape Verde. I am fully aware that tomorrow we will face a formidable opponent," added the Portuguese coach.

While acknowledging that Egypt has been creating scoring chances, Vitoria acknowledged the need for defensive improvement.

"We consistently generate scoring opportunities, but we have areas to work on and develop in defense," commented the national team coach.

The 53-year-old coach declined to discuss his future with the Pharaohs, emphasizing that his focus is solely on the upcoming match against Cape Verde.

"I do not dwell on or speculate about what will happen after the Cape Verde game. Our concentration is solely on the match," concluded Rui Vitoria.

As seven-time winners of the AFCON, Egypt began their campaign in the 2023 edition with a 2-2 draw against Mozambique before repeating the same result against Ghana in the second round.
