Events will be held in seven major cultural centres around Alexandria: Jesuit Cultural Center, Bsarya for Arts, Graeco-Roman Museum, Amideast, 6 Bab Sharq, French Institute, and Greek Cultural Center.

According to the official press release, a variety of local and international photographers, imagemakers, and filmmakers will take part in a comprehensive learning experience for emerging talents.

The event is being organized by Photopia in cooperation with numerous entities. It is Photopia's extension to the already highly popular annual Photo Week in Cairo.

The exhibitions, lectures, and educational events are free to attend for visitors who register with the festival.

“Thus, audiences will be regarded as key partners in learning about this field and discovering stories through these photos. This time, there will be stories from Alexandria and the Delta," according to Photopia founder and managing director Marwa Abou Leila.

However, participation in the workshops requires paying a separate fee.

The eight workshops cover a diverse field and are being offered by World Press Photo and the National Geographic Society.

Additional workshops will cover photomontage and editing, food photography, architectural photography, photography basics, the use of photos in filmmaking, and how to enhance one’s creative vision.

Exhibitions include Sard, Singles, Badawi Studio, Roman Story, Abdullah Sabry on fashion photography, among others.
