Zamalek defender El-Wensh
Scans revealed that the 28-year-old defender has suffered a partial tear of the cruciate ligament in his left knee as announced by Zamalek on Tuesday.
"El-Wensh has undergone comprehensive and detailed medical examinations over the past 48 hours to assess the extent of the injury and determine the appropriate treatment plan," stated Zamalek's doctor, Mohamed Osama.
The club also confirmed that El-Wensh will travel to Germany in the coming days to undergo surgery.
This unfortunate incident marks the third time El-Wensh has suffered a knee ligament injury. His most recent injury occurred in May 2023 during a league game against Ismaily, the same team Zamalek is scheduled to face in the Egyptian Premier League on February 19th.
Currently, Zamalek occupies the 12th position in the league table, having collected 11 points from 8 games. The absence of El-Wensh will undoubtedly pose a challenge for the team as they strive to improve their standing in the league.
