Sudanese side Merreikh have defeated Ahli Shendi 2-0 in the third matchday of the CAF Confederation Cup Group stage on Friday.
Nigerian striker Clichy Osunwa netted the opener for Merreikh in the 54thminute to give the Sudanese giants the lead of the game, and then defender Ahmed El-Basha doubled the score eight minutes before the final whistle.
Merreikh are leading their Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup with seven points, while their group rivals Al Hilal are second with four points and a game in hand. Ahly Shandy placed third with three points while Angolan InterClube are in tail with no points.
