The victims were killed while they were carrying out their duties in training and rehabilitating the Somali Armed Forces.
Egypt also wished a speedy recovery to the injured, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
Furthermore, Egypt reaffirmed its full support and solidarity with the sisterly Federal Republic of Somalia in confronting terrorism and all forms of extremism, calling for international efforts to eradicate terrorism from its roots, dry up its sources of funding, and eliminate its shelters.
The attack was claimed by the militant Al-Qaeda-affiliated group Al-Shabaab, which has waged an armed insurgency against Somalia's central government and its foreign supporters for over 15 years.
