“EgyptAir wishes to confirm its commitment to implementing all instructions issued by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, including issuing flight tickets from within Egypt to external destinations in the local currency, the Egyptian pound,” said EgyptAir in its official statement on Sunday.
Additionally, EgyptAir will not issue any tickets from within Egypt for flights originating from outside the country, Egypt’s National air carrier said.
This comes after a woman on social media claimed two days ago that she was unable to book a ticket and pay for it in Egyptian pounds through the EgyptAir website and that the flight tickets were allegedly paid for in US dollars instead of Egyptian pounds.
